About Roslyn Aquatics
Roslyn Aquatics started as a community led swim program and has hosted lessons for five years in a row. Before me were Virginia Bassetti and Taryn Lundh. The spirit of the group has always been to increase water safety for kids in our town and make swim lessons available to the public. We know there's a huge need and we're thrilled to be actively bringing this vision to life.
But the people really making this possible are all of you - the parents of Upper Kittitas who are supporting the program and signing up for swim every year. We can't wait to help your kids to boost their confidence, love the water, and be safe while playing in it.
Lessons are held at a private pool in Roslyn.

We have 4 age groups we teach for swim lessons:
- Starfish: Baby Class (0-18 months)
- Seahorses: Toddler Class (Ages 1-4)
- Dolphins: Kid Class (Ages 4-7)
- Turtles: Big Kids (Ages 8+)
We welcome all levels in each age group. We often have some beginners and others who just need to boost their confidence or connect their breath. Our primary goal is water safety and comfort in the water, but we play lots of games and find fun and engaging ways to teach the skills, from the foundation to the more advanced.
Lessons usually open for registration in April. Spots tend to go quickly.
About the Instructor
Hi! My name is Genevieve, also known as Miss Gen - Roslyn's very own swim instructor. I am the heart eyes emoji personified when it comes to watching it "click" for kids learning how to swim. I have 5+ years experience teaching swim lessons and many more teaching sailing on open water. I am WSI certified through the Red Cross. My classes have a huge focus on water safety at every level. I do not teach ISR, but I do teach how to get back to the wall or steps, how to climb out, float on your back, stay calm and self assist when you get into trouble. I use tons of toys, games and kickboards to keep the lessons fun and engaging.
My goal is to get every child comfortable in the water and confident in their ability. It's so important to prioritize water safety awareness as a small mountain community with many lakes, rivers and other water recreation all summer long. We build a strong foundation of swim skills in each class and talk about a new water safety topic every week. I LOVE kids, I love the water, and my 3.5 year old is an absolute fish - goes to show how much we value independent swim in our family.
Thank you for your support and interest in this program. I can't wait to work with your kids this summer!
